Founded in 1992

Founded in 1992 by our current Managing Director, Stephen Davis, StarBase initially focused on

IBM AS/400 technical services and automation software. The industry wide concerns about

application and system failures that might result from date recognition problems at the

Millennium, known forever as Y2K, led to a surge in demand for software testing services.

In 2000 StarBase launched its first dedicated performance testing service and has become known

and respected for its skills and expertise in this area. StarBase had a working relationship

with Mercury, the leading supplier of testing software, since 1996. We became a Mercury partner

in 2000 graduating regularly to higher levels becoming a Premier Partner, the highest partnership

level, in 2006. This significant relationship has been maintained through the takeover of

Mercury by HP for whom StarBase is now an HP Preferred Partner.

Focused on Delivery

Since 2000 we have developed further functional testing services and broadened the range of

software tools and partners we work with. As agile development methodologies, SOA, Web and

Cloud technologies have emerged our expertise and use of tools have developed and expanded

taking in new tools from HP, but also those from newer testing software providers like Green Hat 

(now IBM Rational).

Our focus on delivery, our integrity in the getting the job done and our innovative approach to

problem solving ensures we will be keeping up with new technology trends and helping our

customers implement highly performant and functionally sound software for many years to come.
