HP’s Application Lifecycle Management includes a huge index of applications available to us, one of which is Quality Center.

There has been discussion among some professionals as to whether Quality Center will follow in the footsteps of QTP (Quick Test Professional) being renamed – now Functional Tester.

In essence, the answer is yes and no. The Quality Center name will continue to be used, however it’s split across 3 versions –

  • Quality Center: Starter Edition
  • Quality Center: Enterprise Edition
  • Application Lifecycle Management Suite (was Quality Center Premier)

So essentially there’s 3 versions of the same software, but the more you pay, the more you get – Enterprise Edition will have more functionality over the Starter Edition, and ALM will offer the most functionality..
