Ensuring Application Availability
If the smooth running of your applications is critical to your business you want to know they are running quickly and efficiently. Downtime costs money. When things go wrong you need to be able to know what the problem is and to get it rectified quickly.
EnterpriseView is a managed service that provides you with the ability to quickly and easily measure an application's performance and availability from the user's perspective. By constantly monitoring what the user sees, EnterpriseView is capable of alerting you to degraded performance before users are aware that there is an issue. When performance dips it provides the information that you need to identify and resolve the situation.
By maximising system uptime and reducing the time incidents take to get resolved Enterprise View enables you to:
How it works
Powered by Mercury technology EnterpriseView is designed to monitor applications and emulates a normal end-user's activities. The service collects statistics on the performance and availability of the application, based on the time taken to complete a "transaction". The transaction is the sum of the activities performed by the "virtual user" in terms of mouse clicks, text entered, application responses, etc.
Performance is then measured and reported through the EnterpriseView portal website. Reports can be viewed through a normal web browser and EnterpriseView alerting thresholds can be set to your specific requirements. You can choose to have emails and/or SMS messages sent to different personnel, depending on the time of day, or you may have a support contract with a 3rd party and want integration of the alerts with their helpdesk system.
SiteScope Option
Integration with a fully managed "SiteScope" server provides agentless monitoring of servers and network devices involved in the delivery of applications. This allows faster root-cause problem analysis and enables real end to end fault analysis and resolution.
The addition of the SiteScope service entails installing an additional managed server within your infrastructure (typically on a protected VLAN) so that it is able to communicate directly with your network devices. The monitors running on this server use "agentless" technology to continually track key performance metrics on those devices. Deviations in these metrics at the same time as, or leading up to, the degradation or failure of the website or application, can be highlighted automatically to assist in the diagnosis of incidents.
