August 2005
StarBase has recently started its 2005 graduate training programme. The programme, now in its third year was set up to address the shortage of people within IT with suitable application testing skills and experience.
The initial intake is of four graduates all of whom have degrees in computing and business with a minimum of 1 year's experience of working in industry.
They will undergo an intensive four month training programme that includes training in how to use Mercury Tools, consultancy skills, personal mentoring and work placements. On completion of the training they qualify as junior consultants.
Commenting on the reasons behind the programme StarBase Managing Director, Stephen Davis said, "There is a real skills shortage at the moment. We have found it increasingly difficult to find competent staff with the right knowledge and experience. We pride ourselves on the quality and delivery of our service. One of the best ways to ensure we continue to meet our high standards is to train people internally. We have selected an exceptional group of people and look forward to them realising their potential."
