SB/Batch Analyser
Identify where your system resources are going
Introduction
The SB/Batch Analyser for the IBM AS/400 is designed to give you a greater understanding of the
batch work processing on your system.
Although most computer systems these days provide on-line access to the users, the majority
still have a large batch element. Often batch work can dominate a system - the end-of-day
processing is overruns into the on-line day or the day-time batch does not complete before
end-of-day processing is due to start.
Product Overview
Analysing what is happening on your system and what resources jobs are consuming is no easy
task. The SB/Batch Analyser provides detailed analysis of the batch work run on your system.
You will be able to see at a glance what batch jobs have run, what resources they have used
and what other batch jobs they were competing against.
It is easy to use and, once installed, performance information is collected automatically.
The SB/Batch Analyser will capture valuable performance related information about your
batch work without the need to run the resource hungry IBM Performance Tools. A database is
built up of all batch work run to enable you to analyse trends for individual or groups of jobs.
A pictorial view of all batch jobs running on the system can be produced that enables you to see
which jobs were competing against each other. Analysis of your batch will quickly enable you
to see where tuning changes to individual jobs will benefit your critical path work and thus reduce
the duration of batch processing for these tasks.
